My Story
Sometimes I feel lost, because I’ve never fit in.
My ideas, living in new communities, becoming a Mom; I’ve always done things different.
Twelve years ago, I kicked over the traces, grabbed the bit and ran…
Cattle Cait was born.
They were humble beginnings.
I was in my early 20s on the Canadian prairies. I owned a UFA box cutting knife, had hand-me-down leather from my Cowboy boyfriend (turned husband) and a whole lot of dreams, with a whack of failed projects in the garbage.
I continue to push, learn and change my mind, still; the life of a full-time artist.
Proudly, everything on my website today, the designs, the photography, the leatherwork, metal work, painting, beading, sewing, writing, is done by my hand.
This idea that ‘different’ is bad, it's wrong. Our differences, are our gifts to the world.
